Make ohi/o 2025

MakeOHI/O 2025 brought together over 250 student innovators for a fast-paced weekend of building, coding, and problem-solving at The Ohio State University. 99P Labs participated as a sponsor and mentor, introducing a challenge focused on on-device AI and multi-modal large language models (LLMs). The goal: create real-world solutions that enhance mobility, interaction, and accessibility using embedded systems.

Six teams took on the challenge, with standout projects like Echo-Route, a screen-free navigation tool for pedestrians using voice and haptic feedback. Runners-up included Restaurant Finder, a personalized AI dining assistant; DELPHI, a wearable for spatial and social awareness; and Smart Vehicle Environment, an in-car fatigue detection and alert system. Each showcased how on-device AI and thoughtful design can improve daily life in meaningful ways.
